A Bit About Therapy

Psychotherapy can help you feel more calm, joyful and connected, heal trauma, process grief and foster deeper self awareness. Maybe you have difficulty reaching out for support or receiving love? Perhaps you prioritize others but feel neglected? Is your relationship unrewarding or conflictual? Would you like to learn how to repair relationship ruptures? Do you feel empty or disappointed with your life? You deserve to feel better and to be seen and heard! Therapy can be difficult, painful work, however, the rewards are profound. I've helped many clients find the relief, growth and transformation they are seeking.

A therapist should be an objective and nonjudgmental partner in helping you examine your interpersonal and psychological concerns and processes. Within the oasis of this unique and special relationship, you can heal, find solutions, gain a greater understanding of yourself and feel love and closeness in your life. I utilize an eclectic approach, including relationship oriented, cognitive behavioral, and somatic/relational therapies. I am certified in Bioenergetic Analysis and IFS informed.

I see adolescents, adults, couples and families. I very much look forward to welcoming you and moving forward on this special journey together.

I care about your well-being and provide the tools you need in order to grow, change, heal and move beyond even the most traumatic circumstances.

I was trained at the USC School of Social Work and became a Licensed Psychotherapist in 1997.  In January 2024 I completed a four year post-graduate training where I earned a certification in Bioenergetic Analysis, which is a type of relational, somatic psychotherapy. I am also IFS (Internal Family Systems), Cognitive Behavioral, and Attachment informed. Over the years I've worked in most settings including inpatient, outpatient, home hospice, and residential.  I currently work in private practice with adolescents and adults who want to overcome depression, are anxious and fearful, are working through life changes, who want life to have a little more meaning or who need to heal from trauma and grief.

Making large and small changes and finding a supportive, nonjudgemental place to express yourself can bring life-altering results.  I will help you achieve just that.

Couples Therapy

Connection, Intimacy, Conflict Resolution

Couples therapy helps create more intimacy and understanding between partners as well as decreasing conflict.  A therapist provides couples with an impartial witness and mediator who can also teach communication skills, facilitate personal growth in each individual and champion the unity of the "US."  Additionally, a couples therapist is useful, and often crucial, in the dissolution of a relationship where a couple needs help with coparenting.

Family Therapy

Thriving Within A Family System

An individual does not exist within a vacuum.  Often, when one member of a family is suffering, the entire system needs support.  Family Therapy is an extremely effective and efficient way to improve the functioning of the members of the family unit as well as improve the unit as a whole. Family therapy sessions may be added as an adjunct to Individual therapy or may be the preferred method of treatment from the outset.

Often one can find the greatest comfort in the company of those who have walked in their shoes. A group provides a high degree of empathy in a supportive and dynamic setting.  Group Therapy is offered for empowerment, assertiveness, grief, communication and relationship issues.
